First, let's talk about Caffie. He's a piece of all of us. He's ... off just a bit. He has a zeal for life, but tends to overlook consequences and what the future may hold. For his origin story, find the Rat Theatre, and go out back. There, you will see his old neighborhood, and where he became ... whatever it is he is today(?)! But one thing he seems to constantly have is a confidence in himself. I mean, this guy really believes in himself. To him, there's nothing he can't do!
Then there's Moxy. He lives in Moxytown. He and his friends are also ... well, different. They look different. They dress different. They seem to be made of something different. They're all "put together" ... sort of. They all ... know what's what, and what's really going on ... sort of. And they all seem to be quite rich. Well, they tend to think so, and all that.
And then there's me and those who hang with me. We are called "royal beggars". And we collectively call ourselves the "Royal Beggar Society". "What's that?" you ask. Well, we simply recognize that we are truly "beggars" in our most real and basic existence. No matter what and how much stuff we have, and how much money we have, we realize that we owe everything to our Creator who is our God - The God. The One True Living God. And we believe in His Son: Jesus Christ. And we understand that if we truly "believe" in Him, then He has promised us something He calls "Eternal Life", which is "Life beyond this Life". It refers to a good, and even the best possible, After-Life.
And so today, we are beggars, praying to Him constantly for daily provision. And yet, we know deep down inside, that we are filthy rich ... having an inheritance along with Christ Jesus, which has simply not been realized yet. It's a future thing. And in that sense, we are "Royal", by Father-God's Holy Decree!
So we wait for that good future. We look forward to that good future. We live for that good future.Â
But today, we are humble and meek beggars.
We are thus living breathing oxymorons: Royal Beggars.
